About Our Founder
Chrissy is a grand mutt. She’s of Japanese, Chinese, Filipino, Portuguese and Scottish descent. She was born in the Philippines and grew up in California. At the age of 18, she moved to Tennessee and fell in love with East Nashville. She’s a percussionist (and a dabbler on any instrument you put in her hands), and a savvy business woman who has been working for herself for 11 years. She bought her first house at age 20, using a first time homebuyer loan, and one year later she became a real estate agent. In 2014, she officially turned Kirkwood Property Group into a boutique real estate brokerage. Woman owned, Minority owned, and consistently investing in community through hosting & organizing grassroots events, partnering with non-profits, facilitating drum circles and jam sessions. She’s a connector and hub for food, music, tourists and neighbors.
Q: Why do you do all this community stuff when you’re just a real estate brokerage?
Well, our desire is to add value in ways we would appreciate as neighbors. When I’m in a new place, I look for community. Whether I’m just visiting, or I just moved in. I know how lonely it can be to not know anyone and not have anyone to do things with.
This is our driving force for the community events and collaborations we participate in. find your tribe. share your light. share heart beats. Join the Urban Ecovillage pop up community!
Let’s be the change we wish to see in our neighborhoods.
“Business is a powerful platform for change.” –chrissy kirkwood, founder & owner.
